So most likely the same wouldhappen with any other provided media (or own-written media).I would suggest comparing the MD5 or SHA1 from the DVD with the onlineprovided checksum to make sure I'm leaning towards the same issue you mention.

Do you have any Diagnostics you canrun on your DVDReader/Burner, to see it working properly? I assume your pc is capable of booting from cd, just not the Ubuntu cd you burned. Since installing KB3200970 and... Thanks.I suspect it is not a medium problem but rather an incompatibility (orbug) with isolinux and your DVD drive. Try re-downloading. That said, a few daysago, I installed from aDVD that did not pass "linux mediacheck" and that box is running OK.
